First there was mydavidcameron. Now it’s David Cameron’s…
Dear Tories. Really, you need to learn something about design. Because if you put a headline and some body copy on a page, with a picture of someone next to it, the reader’s natural assumption is to presume the headline is about the text, and the text is about the person. Especially if you helpfully add an arrow pointing to the picture of the person. That you’ve put on there. Next to the text.
So, bearing all this in mind, you probably don’t want to stack up words like, say, “MPs”, “guilty” and “wrongdoing” under the word “Conservatives” and next to a picture of Cameron, with an arrow pointing towards him. Because it might end up looking like this. I would post the picture, but the element of surprise makes it so much better. You’ll see. You can go to their website and click on ‘Recalling MPs found guilty of wrongdoing’ but why give ‘em the traffic?
While the Tories probably don’t want to do this kind of dimwitted self-sabotage, I for one would be delighted if they carried on. David Cameron: taking back mydavidcameron and, I note, staying true to the spirit of it. Perhaps he has got confused about the line between real and satirical Tory advertising. Can’t think why.
